It’s important to note that hazardous materials classified under domestic laws may differ for export, so semi-finished and used cleaned products cannot be used for exporting hazardous substances.
Additionally, semi-finished and used cleaned products cannot receive UN certification, which means it’s essential to use new products for exports to ensure compliance.

Types of 1-Ton Drums
The 1-ton drum is available in four types:
- New Product: Both the inner container and the steel frame are brand new.
- Semi-Finished Product: The inner container is new, but the steel frame is used.
- Used Cleaned Product: Both the inner container and frame are used and cleaned.
- Waste Product: Made entirely from used materials, with the inner container designated as waste material.
The inner containers used for waste products are classified as designated waste and must be processed by government-approved disposal companies.
Where to Process Designated Waste
To dispose of used 1-ton drums, you must use a designated waste processing company, as these containers often stored various hazardous and toxic chemicals, which classifies them as designated waste.
Improper disposal can lead to severe environmental pollution and penalties under strict environmental laws.
Examples of designated waste include waste paint, waste oil, mineral waste, organic solvents, acids, alkalis, toxic substances, and pesticides.
