For those unfamiliar with IBC tanks, we invite you to explore our offerings at Cheoldang. They may prove beneficial for your needs.
What is an IBC Tank?
An IBC tank, designed for the transportation of hazardous materials, is a container made for easy loading into shipping containers. It is ideal for transporting both solid and liquid hazardous materials, making it widely used for pharmaceutical transport.
While suitable for transporting pharmaceuticals and hazardous materials, IBC tanks are not appropriate for transporting high-pressure gases due to varying toxicity and safety requirements. IBC stands for "Intermediate Bulk Container."
These tanks are too heavy to carry manually, so they are typically moved with forklifts. A key advantage of IBC tanks is that they are reusable. Made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), they offer excellent resistance to various hazardous substances, chemicals, and alkalis.
Although primarily used for pharmaceuticals and hazardous materials, IBC tanks are also suitable for agricultural and food environments, making them versatile across various applications.

Cheoldang also maintains vehicles authorized for transporting designated waste, strictly complying with environmental laws for safe transportation.
Are Pharmaceutical and IBC Tanks Designated Waste?
An IBC tank itself is not designated waste. However, an IBC tank that has been used to store hazardous, toxic, or harmful chemicals becomes designated waste. If the tank has not contained such materials, it is not considered designated waste.
For IBC tanks used as pharmaceutical tanks, please note the following guidelines:
- In freezing temperatures, the valves may be prone to breakage, so caution is advised.
- We recommend not stacking packaged IBC tanks more than three high.
- For high-temperature products, ensure the contents are below 60°C when packaging.
- Keep the center of gravity balanced during transportation.
- Before using this product, please read and follow the warranty information carefully for proper storage and handling.
